The Disabled Veteran Parking Program offers complimentary parking to disabled veterans who are enrolled in the program.

Eligible participants must enroll online or in person and meet the following requirements:

• Must be the registered owner of the vehicle (includes spouse or surviving spouse, if listed on the vehicle registration) and be present at the time of validation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or military ID card matching the name of the registered vehicle owner.

To enroll, complete the DV Enrollment Application OR the Appointment Scheduler Form linked from this webpage. Once approved, your license plate will be linked to AEX’s parking system, managed by Metropolis. Enrollment grants you program privileges and seamless drive-in, drive-out access to AEX parking facilities.

To receive program privileges, you must be enrolled before entering the AEX parking facility. Enrollment processing through Metropolis takes three to five days. Without enrollment, you will be charged the standard posted rates; refunds will not be granted.

No, veterans will not be turned away if they haven’t enrolled in the program. Members of the Metropolis parking team are available to support enrollment, whether online or in-person. However, to receive complimentary or discounted parking, enrollment is required. Enrollment processing takes three to five days, and participants are advised to wait until they receive notification of the approval or denial of their enrollment form before entering the AEX parking facility. Without enrollment, you’ll be charged the standard posted rates; refunds will not be granted.

No. The Disabled Veteran Parking Program does not change or replace ADA-accessible parking. Travelers with a valid ADA-accessible placard or license plate can continue to park in designated accessible spaces in all airport parking facilities, regardless of whether they have a DV plate.

• In accordance with Louisiana state law, veterans with DV plates without the International Symbol of Access (ISA) are not eligible to park in ADA-accessible spaces.
• DV plates used with a valid disabled placard may park in ADA-accessible spaces.
• Plates that include the ISA symbol may park in ADA-accessible spaces.

Yes. The enrolled and registered owner of the vehicle must be present at the time of exit/validation. If the registered owner is not present at time of exit/validation, the driver will be required to pay posted rates.
